Urban districts in Harris and Dallas counties must demonstrate that internship placements occur with employers inside the state rather than remote national firms. Applications require a current Texas Education Agency CTE compliance report, letters of commitment from Texas-based companies, and baseline data on prior-year internship placement rates.

The Texas Computer Science Pathways program addresses these constraints by requiring districts to submit placement data through the state’s existing PEIMS system.
