Urban seniors in Harris and Dallas counties encounter separate cost pressures from rising housing expenses that leave less disposable income for devices or monthly data plans.
The foundation's grant can offset hardware and platform licensing fees that otherwise exceed $240 per participant annually in low-density ZIP codes. Budget templates must itemize line items for satellite backhaul or fixed-wireless equipment rather than assuming fiber availability. Texas applicants that document these incremental costs receive scoring priority under the foundation's regional adjustment factor.
Who Should Apply in Texas Nonprofit organizations registered with the Texas Secretary of State that operate in at least three counties outside metropolitan statistical areas qualify. Preference is given to entities already contracted with Area Agencies on Aging for Region 2 or Region 9.
